60 Days of Streaking!!

My run tonight marked the 60th consecutive day that I have ran at least 1 mile.  During the past 10 days I ran 38.4 miles but for the most part I didn’t have a whole lot of variety other than doing 3 trail runs at the refuge.  Trail running is peaceful and it gives your body a break with a softer running surface.  I’m going to blame the cold weather for my lack of varity.  When it’s zero degrees out it’s hard to think about anything other than knocking out your miles and getting back inside.

This weeks Highlighted workout-  Negative split run

A negative split is easy to understand, but it’s not always so easy to do.  Basically you start off a little slower and then increase your speed each mile.  On the last day of 2017 I ran 3.25 miles and my splits are listed below.

Mile 1:    9:30

Mile 2:    9:18

mile 3:    8:40

1/4 mile  8:33
