80 days into my running challenge and I’m still going strong. Cold weather has been the major story lately and frankly it has made it difficult to change up my routine. I ran 38.4 miles over the past 10 days with 7 of my runs on the treadmill. Fortunately this weekend I was able to get back outside for my final 3 runs. Those runs were a little sluggish, but it was nice to get back outdoors.
This weeks highlighted workout is not necessarily a workout per-say, but it’s a way of running that I have been using religiously for years. On at least 2 of my runs every week I use the Jeff Galloway Run/Walk Running method. I normally use a 4/1 split which means I run 4 minutes and then walk for 1 minute. I use the 4/1 because it’s easy for me to remember and it gives you a long enough run to feel like your getting a good workout. Also because the walk break is enough to regroup and lower your heart rate. I think using this running style has made me a better runner and kept me logging miles instead of pushing myself to the point of getting injured.
Thanks for reading and Happy Running!!
